Parent Information

  School Hours

Students attend school from 8:00-2:50. Students may come as early at 7:30 to eat breakfast before the school day.

School Attendance

School attendance is very important. It is very hard to duplicate what the students learn in the classroom each day.

Absences

Whenever your child is absent, a note MUST be sent explaining the absence when your child returns to school. Work can be picked up in the office for your child if you will call me and let me know that you are interested in picking it up!

Changes in Transportation

If your child plans to ride a different bus or be picked up, you must send a note with specific directions. If I do not receive a written note, then I MUST send your child home by his/her usual mode of transportation.

Outdoor Recess

The children will be going out for recess every day unless it is raining or extremely cold. Please keep this in mind when helping your child select clothes for the day.

Child's Needs

Please send a complete change of clothing. Write your child's name on the tag of each piece of clothing. Place the clothing in a gallon size zip lock bag with the child's name on the front of the bag.

Sending Money to School

On occasion it will be necessary for your child to bring money to school. Always send money in a sealed envelope with the following information written on it:

  • child's first and last name
  • amount of money
  • purpose for the money
  • teacher's name

Take-Home Folder

Each student will have a two-pocket folder that travels with them between school and home. School information, homework, or any other correspondence should be put into the folder. Once at school, students will be responsible for placing the contents of the folder in certain locations throughout the classroom. At the end of the day, students will fill their folder with any homework, school notes, school information, etc. Please be sure take-home folders are reviewed every night! To help, folder pockets will be labeled "return" and "home".

Report Cards

Students will receive Report Cards four times during the school year....after every 9 weeks. If you have any questions, please send a note or call me at school. I will get back with you as soon as possible.

Parent/Teacher Relationship

Throughout the school year, I will communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, newsletters, report cards, our classroom website, and parent-teacher conferences. If you would like to meet to discuss an issue, please feel free to send a note or call to set up an appointment.
