Teresa's Guidance Services

I grew up in East Tennessee and went to college at Eastern Kentucky University where I got my degree in Deaf Education.  I moved to West Tennessee with the opening of W.T.S.D. in the fall of 1986. I attended the University of Memphis and got a degree in Elementary Counseling.  I then met my husband.  We've been married for 15 years and have one daughter aged 11.
Guidance Program
The guidance program provides our students with help in:
  • Understanding themselves and developing a positive self-image.
  • Showing respect for the feelings of others.
  • Understanding the decision-making process.
  • Maintaining effective relationships with adults and peers.
  • Gaining an understanding of the world of work.

WHAT MAKES A GOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

For more than 30 years research has concluded that family involvement is the biggest prediction of student success.  Student, parents and teachers must work together!

  • Ask your child how school is going and show them that their success is important to you.
  • Support them as they do homework, making sure they understand their assignments and complete them on time.
  • Make yourself familiar with the classroom curriculum and academic goals for your child.
