Behavior Plan
for
Joy’s Class
Students will receive a positive encouragement stamp, such as a star, a happy face, “Well done”, etc. on a chart for participation during work time. Students will trade their stamps for rewards once a week or as needed. Throughout the day, students will have opportunities to earn extra stamps for:
1. Good manners.
2. Following classroom/school rules.
3. Waiting patiently for their turn.
4. Working exceptionally hard on assignments.
5. Any outstanding/exceptional behavior!
My goal for the students in my class is for them to be motivated to have positive behaviors and social skills that assist them in developing good relationships with acquaintances and friends.
When a student has a negative behavior such as continually interrupting the lesson to talk, first I will ignore the behavior and give other students a stamp in order to encourage that student to stop what they are doing. Second, I will state what they are doing, say why it is inappropriate, and ask them to stop. Third, they will loose a privilege starting with five minutes of recess.
My goal in addressing negative behaviors is to instruct the students. Showing them you do not earn rewards when you are doing something negative, telling them what they are doing that is inappropriate at that time, and then losing a privilege is important so students may learn about behavior.
